Re; Vioxx settlement.Do cash recipients need to reimburse their Insurance co. out of their cash settlement?

I have been told that I need to sign off of suit against Merck without knowing how much of a settlement I will receive. AND that I would need to pay back my Insurance company out of any amount that I receive.
