Lets see:
Sleep driving,
Black outs,
Memory loss,
Babbling incoherrently…
I guess it beats an instant heart attack, but still!

Vioxx got a bad rap … thanks to people abusing it and taking more than they should every day for long periods, they banned a good medicine. Plus Vioxx didn’t mess with your mind.
I thought they were used to treat different conditions.
My exhubby got addicted to it when he was drunk or high several times are they considering banning it when he took it when he was drunk or high several times.

I was put on Ambien and then Ambien CR ( the longer acting one) and I didn’t experience these side effects. In fact, the only thing it didn’t do for me effectively was allow me to sleep. I found that if I took it nightly, I needed more to have it work, so I discontinued taking it. I also couldn’t take Lunesta as that didn’t work either and left a horrible taste in my mouth.
In considering sleep medications, it is important to work closely with your medical care provider. It is important to understand your options. It is also important to ask questions and to find out what questions are important to ask. Check out the National SLEEP Foundation’s web site. Its posted below.
Without good health, life becomes shades dimmer. Sleep is one of the most, if not THE most, important factor in obtaining and maintaining your health. Insomnia robs a person from optimum physical, medical, emotional, spiritual, cognitive functioning and vocational productivity. Ambien helps millions of people get the sleep they need. However, there is the issue of possible side-effects.
Usually, side-effects are caused by mis-/ improper use. The steps listed below minimizes the onset and/or severity of Ambien’s side-effects:
* Take Ambien exactly as directed by your prescriber.
* Take Ambien with a full glass of water.
* Go to bed immeidately after taking Ambien.
* Allow for 7-8 hrs of sleep.
* Do not increase dosage.
* Do not stop taking Ambien w/o prescriber’s supervision.
* Report any and all side-effects to your prescriber.
* Don’t take with alcohol or other sedatives.
Remember: Always list and keep your doctor(s) updated on your current intake of prescriptions and OTCs - herbs, vitamins, minerals, dietary supplements, etc.
